Something simple to do in order to get the most bang for your buck- get a part time job. Most people think it’s hard to work when you’re going to college, that is true unless you do a part time job. Work a job during the summer so you can make some extra money, then when you fill out the FAFSA use your own info. If you claim yourself instead of having your parents file you as a dependent your financial need will be greater therefore causing more grants and less money to pay for college. Personally I suggest doing this your junior year (if you’re 18+ or senior year so that the second year will cost much less!
